Part 3: Androgen Dominance: What Do You Do First?

Part 3: Androgen Dominance: What Do You Do First?
In Parts 1 and 2 of Androgen Dominance, you discovered that many of us suffer with thinning scalp hair, weight gain that is centered in our abdomens and embarrassing mustaches! You also found out why this happens – that it is an imbalance between your level of Androgen hormones (Testosterone and DHEA) with your Estrogen and Progesterone.

Often the Testosterone and DHEA levels are actually totally normal levels. It’s just that the levels are high compared to the levels of Estrogen and Progesterone because as the ovaries stop producing Estrogen, Progesterone and Testosterone, the Adrenal glands kick in and make Testosterone and DHEA, but do NOT make Estrogen and Progesterone.

That's one of the reasons why men have much lower rates of these Autoimmune Disease and seem to have more physical endurance, (certainly not mental endurance), than us women. It's because they have higher levels of Androgens!

Do you Feel Your Memory is Fading?

Do you Feel Your Memory is Fading?

Maybe feeling a bit foggy and forgetful?

This is a very common complaint as we enter our Midlife years because our hormones play a big role in brain function.

In just the same ways that Estrogen helps prevent heart disease, Estrogen also supports our brain function. By improving the stretchiness of our arteries, and decreasing the stickiness of our platelets, Estrogen helps keep our blood pressure controlled and prevent plaque and cholesterol from clogging up our arteries. Remember our artieries go everywhere. So plaque doesn't just form in our arteries around our heart, it forms everywhere - including the vessels in our brain.
